Email from my coworker
I got into work this morning, after waiting 3 hours to cast my ballot, and I see this message in my inbox. We're a small company (>15) and he sent this to only the Black (women) on staff. Every vote for Obama is appreciated, but the 'woe is me, Black people are scary' shit is making me wonder what the fuck he's trying to accomplish.

I voted for Obama for the future of the USA. The statement to the world about what we are all about is most important. Yes, we are a land of opportunity, as long as the people force our government to do so.
Some Background:
I grew up in a rural agricultultural area of Upstate NY in the 60-70’s. Our town produced fruits, vegetables and corn crops. The blacks in our town were migrant laborers. Our town in the summer was 60% white and 40% black. In the winter it went 80% white 20% black. That was the cycle of our town. Year after year.
My family and the whites in my town said the N word every day. Not proud of that but that was my reality. I was never exposed to educated blacks when I was growing up. They had migrant labor camps. One just a 10th of a mile away from my home. Squallier was the basic element of their living and boozing, drugs, and the police there every weekend was what I knew about black people. They were dangerous to us, unpredictable behavior and it scared us.
There was only one middle class black family in the town that was educated and respected. We had one Jewish Doctor. So it was very isolated. I remember in high school having the school locked down. All the white kids were locked in study halls and the blacks were rioting in the halls until the cops came.
I was a straight A student in high school, not a sports dude, but still popular. One day I was coming up the stairs to go to study hall and I was greeted by a group of 12 black students at the top. The Alpha Black dude of the high school came up to me and slapped me across the face with all his force for no reason. I was stunned but did not confront and went into my study hall dazed. I hated him for what he had done to me in front of his group. I turned the other cheek. In five minutes he came into the room and apologized to me for what he had done and I forgave him. Why do we do these things to each other?!
Even having experienced many bad encounters with blacks in my growing up years I will vote for Obama because I believe he will do his best. As the first black President of the USA he will have a tremendous responsibility to do the right thing. More so than any old white dude like McCain. My experience with black people has been a 50-50, I’ve been mugged twice in NYC by blacks and barely escaped with my life, assaulted by blacks in DC and lost my two front teeth I have and yet I believe this is an opportunity for the USA to advance.
Blacks may think they have it rough, but in my experience I have been victimized by black males so many times yet I still believe in the good of humanity. Now the camps back home are Hispanic. They tend the orchards and the fields. There are few successful black families in our town, most on welfare. Hard to convince my prejudiced family that they should vote and support a black President. But that is what needs to happen even beyond their fears. White rural people fear black people. That is the way it is. They do not believe they are civilized or act rationally. To some extent that fear is true. I have experienced it firsthand. Yet, I have hope for America, and for Obama. This is an opportunity for Black America to prove itself and I hope and trust you will do a better job than the last 8 years of stupid white people! That is my story.
These two responses sums up my thoughts exactly.
... this email makes me want to knock his 2 fake front teeth out!
Common denominator= him!
But did he have to walk 5 miles to school in the snow while 'the blacks' were lovingly bussed?!?
Common denominator= him!
Right? I've been living in Detroit all my life and no shit like that's ever happened to me. After the second or third time, I think I'd be wondering, "What am I doing wrong here?"
Yes, my fellow African-Americans. Please don't let this YT who finds it impossible to NOT get his ass kicked by black people down. He's still gonna think all blacks are violent and ignorant, but at least he voted for Obama!!!
White Jesus dancing on a cracker, these people make me crazy!
