Sisqo Says It So It Shall Be

Frankly, I'm sick of all the hate.

My generation's Frank Sinatra has a message for all of you rabid stans who think that Usher, the Rockwell of R&B, can hold a candle to him.

Sisqo

Sisqó, the flashy frontman for the R&B-soul group Dru Hill, today attempted to clear the air about his Usher and R. Kelly diss song.

The K-Ci Hailey-esque lead vocalist attempted to end the rift he started with his rivals Usher and Kelly, after releasing his "One Finger" diss recording. The song - which never made it much beyond Web chat rooms and gossip "news" sites [Haterism in the industry that's all] - claims that he is the true musical "veteran."

"I have nothing against Usher," he told listeners during a wide-ranging interview on Atlanta's WVEE-FM. "I respect him as an artist."

He also said he respects Kelly, who he had told "leave it alone" in the song. Kelly is currently on trial for child pornography.

"And please stop leaving Usher hate messages on my My Space," he told fans.

Sisqó, who presented new group member Tayo, has said both he and the group have new singles out and are moving forward.

"I am sorry if I seem arrogant," he said of Usher and Kelly, noting that they have lots of gimmicks to sell their music.

"I am just confident," he said.

If only all of today's artists had the strength and tenacity of Sisqo.

I heard Sisqo is getting the lifetime achievement award at this year's BET Awards. I'll be live blogging the event on MS that night so make sure you join me to witness history.

I hope I don't cry too much.
