What's up, ya'll?! How was your weekend?
Mine was filled with heat and insanity.
Dammit if the powers that be didn't have it out for me. I was trying my damnedest to take full advantage of Georgia's tax-free holiday by racking up on some things so I went 12 miles out of the way to avoid certain urban shoppers looking for a deal. I'm in a store for about 45 minutes, a slight drizzle began to fall and all the damn lights go out in the whole area. The employees, panicking and hoping this won't turn into a discount store riot, made us drop everything and leave the store. I was P-I-ssed. It took me a long ass time to accumulate that stuff and the effed up Georgia power grid was messing with my money.
So I went out to dinner and got back home around 11:30pm only to realize that there was a blackout in my entire area too. I'm at home in the hot ass dark trying to fall asleep. Around 2am I'm on the phone chatting it up with Mizz while my neighbor's house was apparently being broken into.
The neighbor comes over the next morning to use our phone. He doesn't say exactly why, but he uses the phone and leaves. A few hours later, while I'm in the driveway about to leave and try those damn stores again, the neighbor comes over to ask if we saw anything suspicious the night before. I told him that I didn't see nor hear anything and he starts to give me the third degree. He asks me if I'm suuuure I didn't see or hear anyone carrying a flat screen out to a car or anything. I'm like no nigga. If he didn't hear it from inside his own damn house, I wouldn't have been able to hear it all the way across the damn street. I knew that the situation must have been really stressful, so I didn't side-eye him too hard. I hope he finds some answers soon. Our homeowners association is sooooo bootleg! We live two houses away the association president and his wife and they didn't see anything. I'm thinking their asses need to be recalled. LOL...and anyway, they're blaspanic and swear they're being discriminated against by many of the people in the area because of that fact... So they probably take the dues and say "f*ck em" when it comes to neighborhood watch. At the same time, I can't help but to think something fishy is going on. He came over to my house to use the phone, but I never saw any police show up. He remarked that the burglars broke in through this kitchen window, but that window is a very small and narrow space. Plus, his house is positioned on a hill of sorts, so it would have taken some small, skinny and very balanced thieves to maneuver around in the dark on that steep incline and carry his goods to their getaway vehicle. Hell, I don't know, but the story kind of stinks to me.
So what's up around your way?
