HAS 'GIRLFRIENDS' BEEN CANCELLED?: CW reportedly decides to end nation's top rated African American series.



We hear from a source within the "Girlfriends" writing camp that the CW has decided to cancel the series immediately instead of bringing it back for a ninth season.

Ironically, news of the show's cancellation comes just as the strike has ended and the writing staff was preparing to return to work. We were informed by one of the writers yesterday that Monday night's one-hour block of new episodes served as the show's last. Read more here...


Honest question: who is still watching The CW?

Unlike a lot of people who did like Girlfriends at one time, I stopped watching before Jill Marie Jones left. Frankly, after 7 seasons, I was sick of the main characters never evolving...Joan continued to be a shrew that couldn't keep a man, Lynn was still a damn mooch who didn't contribute anything to the story, William was still corny, Maya was still a big ass hypocrite (That episode when she berated Toni for wanting to raise her child Jewish really got on my nerves) and the Toni/her estranged husband/the new baby storyline left much to be desired.

I say good riddance, but let me duck out of here, because if some people catch wind of my thoughts on this, they'll beat my black card out of me. Ah, well. You still have the BET reruns to sustain you (where they bleep out the word "bitch"...BET sat yo' black ass down!).


In other news: The Badussy Cat Dolls have a new season of their search for a new member of their group who have sold approximately 13.6 albums since its inception.
